I finished tier 3 of Lady E. I can only do about 1 tier a day because it takes my complete attention and so about an hour is all I can muster. I also found that the knitting and purling in REVERSE was really slowing me down so I've gone back to turning the thing for now. I'll go back to the reverse method when she gets too big to turn quickly....

I find it interesting that these two pictures which I took at the same time look so different. I guess it's all in the lighting.

So far I'm really enjoying enterlac knitting and this stole is my favorite thing I've knit to date. Even though I'm only 3 tiers into it I think I can say with some certainty that I will knit this stole again.

Well the Lady Eleanor Stole sure knows how to test my nerves! I started her last night with the base triangles....and when I was done I was CERTAIN I had done something wrong....I give you my wonky triangles:

After re-reading the instructions about 10 times and getting a little encouragement from my friends at KR I settled down and realized I had done them right. So today I
did Tier 1. It took me over 3 hours to do this Tier....but I taught myself to Knit in reverse to keep the turns to a minimum. This is awkward and slowing me WAY down....but I figure with a little practice I'll pick up speed. Anyway....3 hours later Tier 1 is done and my wonky triangles have somewhat settled down......TADA....tier 1:

Stay tuned....I see lot's of high drama coming my way with this project.

I just LOVE the Lady Eleanor stole from the book Scarf Style. It will be my first endeavor into entrelac knitting and I'm very excited because I love all of the Lady Es I've seen completed by Knitter's Review members....those gals are REALLY enablers! Here's the picture from the book....isn't she beautiful???

After much thought about yarn I finally decided on Noro Silk Garden in Colorway 201. I based this decision on pictures I found on the internet so it's really a crap shoot as to what the yarn will look like. I'm hoping it comes close to these pictures:

I think the stole in this colorway will be very romantic and will look great draped over a little black dress for a night out on the town.

Anway...the yarn has been ordered so there is no turning back now. All I have to do now is wait for the postman to bring me the yarn!!! I'm also trying to finish up my other WIPs so I won't have guilt about devoting 100% of my knitting time to Lady E.

Back to Knitting....

Recently I haven't spent much time knitting as I've been busy holding a very long pity party for myself over my recent breakup. Well the party is over and I'm getting back to my old self. Back on the treadmill....and back to knitting!

I love all the felted tote bags I've seen and wanted to make one of my own. I ordered a couple of patterns and decided I'd start with a small bag first. The directions were not all that clear so I thought....better to learn on the small bag first. The bag is called My Little Companion and I knit it Cascade 220 and double stranded. I tend to knit tightly and need to work on knitting looser when I'm doing a felted project.

It's a very small tote bag....not even sure what I'll use it for. I may just use it as a gift bag.

TIME FLIES.....

So it's almost the end of February and the only thing I have off the needles so far this year is a couple of dishclothes that I worked on during my last business trip. Seems breaking up is harder then I remember and it's really put me in a funk...with little desire to pick up my needles.

I did manage to finish the baby hat I made for my sister's new baby.....I finished it last November and I'm just now getting around to posting a picture of it....man what is wrong with me? Oh well ....here it is....

I just adore this hat....although it's way to big for an infant...I'm hoping it will fit him by next winter.

Projects...Projects...Projects

Here are a few things I've got on the needles. While they aren't the ONLY projects I have on needles...they are the only ones I'm working on this month.

First we have the My Little Companion felted bag. Here is a picture of my progress to date. I'm double stranding using Cascade 220 on size 11 circs. Doing a simple grey/pink color. If you look closely at the picture you can see a picture of the bag on the pattern in the background.

Next we have the "Noodles" hat I'm making for my sister's baby boy (not yet born). This is a fast easy knit...I should have it finished tonight or tomorrow.

I've had this next scarf on the needles for WAY TOO LONG. It's the Mistake Rib scarf and I'm using Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran (it feels soooo yummy!) knitting on size 8s. I'm not pleased with the edging and will definitely have to block it to see if that helps.

This last little scarf is a quick fun knit! It's 10 stitches on size 15 needles...knit in Garter Stitch for 200 rows. It's knit with Double Strands of Crystal Palace KIDDO yarn and is soooo soft! I've made one for my niece and one for my sister....this one is for me. It knits SOOO fast ...even for me the definition of SLOW KNITTER. Even I can get one finished in a few hours.

So that's it for now....once I get a couple of these off the needles I've got some sock to knit with that new yarn from my KR Gift Elf. Going to try 2 socks on 2 circs for the first time....but that's another post :)

My KR Gift Elf Package Arrived....

Yep...and I'm smiling ear to ear! My gift elf Kim (aka Renocat) sent me this BEAUTIFUL scarf. It's sooooo pretty...... I hope you see the detail in it (my photography skills leave a lot to be desired). It's Purple (my favorite color) and so snuggly...and did I mention PRETTY!!!

Kim also sent me a skein of Sockotta sock yarn!! It's very pretty...loaded with lots of pink, yellow and orange. I think I'm going to use it to try my first pair of 2 socks on 2 circulars!! Next she gave me some OHHHH-SOO-PRETTY stitch markers...I love them and I'm going to use them tonight!! Here is a close up of them ...
EDIT: I just found out she made these herself!! The woman is truly talented!

Next she gifted me with the Mary Kay Satin Hands Pampering Set!!! I've never used Mary Kay before but I have friends who SWEAR by it....so now I can see for myself :)

KNITTING FOR MY SISTER'S BABY....

My sister Heather is pregnant and she's having a boy. She is due in April or May so it's kinda early to be knitting but I knit slow so I HAVE to start now. I found this CUTE baby hat and I just love it. It's called the Noodle hat....see even the name is cute!

I started it the other night ....here is my progress so far....

Off to the Post Office....

I'm pretty excited because I finally got all the stuff together to send to my KR Gift Elf. Business travel has kept me away from home a lot so I was lagging getting my gift together. I finally got it together and made my way to the Post Office.... the line was a mile long.....thank goodness my local PO has one of those "help yourself" machines so I was able to bypass the line and get my package right into the mail!
I hope she likes it :)
